A passenger has died aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises' Seven Seas Voyager during the ship's visit to Lough Foyle on 28 August 2026.
The passenger was brought ashore at Greencastle in County Donegal before being transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital. The person's identity and cause of death have not been publicly released.
Foyle Port confirmed that the transfer ashore was arranged by the ship's local agent and dealt with by An Garda Síochána in accordance with Irish regulations.

Seven Seas Voyager was visiting the Lough Foyle area as part of a scheduled call listed by Regent Seven Seas Cruises as Londonderry.
Foyle Port's published 2026 cruise schedule had previously confirmed that Seven Seas Voyager was due to return to Lough Foyle on 28 August, alongside expedition ship Hebridean Sky. Most cruise vessels visiting the port tender passengers ashore at Greencastle.
Reports following the incident said Gardaí were treating the death as a medical emergency and that no criminal investigation was underway. No further information about the circumstances of the passenger's death has been made public.
Ship was sailing 12-night Viking Vistas cruise
Regent's official itinerary confirms that Seven Seas Voyager departed Reykjavik, Iceland, on 20 August on a 12-night Viking Vistas cruise to Southampton.
The itinerary included Grundarfjordur, Isafjordur, Akureyri and Seydisfjordur in Iceland, followed by Stornoway in Scotland. The ship's scheduled 28 August call was listed as Londonderry, followed by Belfast on 29 August and Cobh on 30 August.
The voyage continued following the incident and was scheduled to conclude in Southampton on 1 September.
