A spectacular evening in Civitavecchia, the gateway port to Rome, as Carnival Legend made her departure on 2 October 2026.

Bathed in the warm golden light of the setting sun, the Carnival Cruise Line ship sailed past the harbour's breakwater and towering container cranes, creating a striking scene against a dramatic Mediterranean sky.

Sweeping clouds, soft blue tones and shades of orange and gold provided a beautiful backdrop as Carnival Legend made her way towards the open sea.

These photographs capture the ship and the remarkable evening light from the deck of another cruise vessel overlooking the harbour.
