SeaDream Yacht Club has unveiled SeaDream III, the first newly built yacht to join the company since it was established 25 years ago.
The approximately 151-metre vessel is scheduled to enter service in July 2029, accommodating around 200 guests with a crew of almost equal size. It will be considerably larger than the company's existing 112-guest twins, SeaDream I and SeaDream II, while retaining the small-ship approach on which the brand has built its identity.
SeaDream says the new yacht will visit six continents, 73 countries and 364 ports during its first 24 months of operation. Reservations for the inaugural programme opened on 1 September 2026.
SeaDream III's maiden voyage
SeaDream III is scheduled to begin its maiden voyage in Hong Kong on 10 July 2029. The 10-night sailing will travel through Japan's Ryukyu Islands and along the country's Pacific coast before reaching Tokyo.
The yacht's official christening is planned for Tokyo on 21 July. Its maiden season will continue with voyages around Japan and South Korea, including four 14-night round trips from Tokyo combining northern and western Japan with calls in South Korea.
A subsequent 15-night voyage will sail from Tokyo to Hong Kong through Japan's southern islands. SeaDream III will then continue into Southeast Asia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand, visiting destinations including Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Bali, Komodo, the Great Barrier Reef and Tasmania. The initial Asia-Pacific programme is due to culminate with a New Year celebration in Sydney.
Balconies, open decks and three marinas
Guest accommodation will extend across five decks and include a wider selection of suites, Commodore staterooms and connecting rooms. Private balconies will be available across four accommodation decks.
The yacht's upper decks will provide a dedicated pool deck and a mixture of indoor and open-air spaces for dining, socialising and relaxation. Expanded spa, fitness and wellness facilities are also planned.
Three watersports marinas will offer direct access to the sea. Watersports have long been a defining part of the SeaDream experience, and the multiple marina arrangement will expand that feature aboard the new vessel.
SeaDream has not yet publicly identified the shipyard in its announcement. Cruise Industry News reports that it understands the yacht will be constructed in China, but this has not been formally confirmed by the cruise line.
Europe, the Arctic and the Great Lakes
During 2030, SeaDream III will sail west from Asia, visiting India, the Arabian Peninsula and the Mediterranean before arriving in London.
The yacht will then operate voyages around the British Isles, the Baltic, coastal Norway, Svalbard, Greenland and Iceland. It will cross the North Atlantic to Canada before entering the St Lawrence and the Great Lakes.
The published programme includes Montreal, Chicago, Toronto and Detroit, alongside calls around Georgian Bay, Lake Superior, the Niagara Peninsula and Prince Edward County. The yacht will later sail along the east coast of the United States to West Palm Beach, close to SeaDream Yacht Club's US headquarters, before operating in the Caribbean, Central America, Colombia and Panama.
180-night world voyage in 2031
On 5 January 2031, SeaDream III is scheduled to depart West Palm Beach on a 180-night world voyage to London.
The itinerary will pass through the Panama Canal and follow the Pacific coast of South America through Ecuador, Peru and Chile. It will then cross the South Pacific to Australia before continuing through Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
The final part of the voyage will include Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India, the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt and Jordan. After transiting the Suez Canal, the yacht will travel through the Mediterranean and along Europe's Atlantic coast, reaching London on 5 July 2031.
SeaDream founder and owner Atle Brynestad described the vessel as the company's next chapter, saying its size would allow it to travel globally and reach distinctive smaller harbours while maintaining SeaDream's highly personalised style of service.
A significant expansion for SeaDream
The announcement represents a major step for a company that has operated the same two small yachts throughout its 25-year history. Rather than replacing one of those vessels, SeaDream III will expand the fleet and give the line the range to offer a genuinely worldwide programme.
