An unwell passenger was airlifted from Carnival Legend after an HM Coastguard helicopter was dispatched to the cruise ship in the English Channel.
The medical evacuation took place on Saturday 29 August 2026 while the Carnival Cruise Line ship was travelling towards Dover. The passenger was flown to Newquay Airport and handed into the care of the ambulance service.

Coastguard helicopter sent to Carnival Legend
The Coastguard search-and-rescue helicopter was seen operating over the Plymouth area before reaching Carnival Legend off the south-west coast of England.
