Four cruise ships are calling at the Port of Málaga on Friday, 21 August 2026, bringing passengers from four vessels into the Andalusian city during its annual August fair.

The scheduled visitors are P&O Cruises’ Arvia, Ambassador Cruise Line’s Ambience and Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Navigator and Seven Seas Splendor.

Together, the ships have a published combined capacity of 9,591 passengers. That figure represents their potential capacity rather than a confirmed count of guests actually aboard during the calls.

Four ships from three cruise lines

Arvia is the largest of the four ships and accounts for more than 6,200 of the available passenger places. The 185,000gt Excel-class vessel is approximately 345 metres long and is powered by liquefied natural gas.

The P&O Cruises ship was scheduled to arrive from La Coruña at 7am and depart at 5pm for Alicante. Its presence gives the port a mix of one large contemporary resort ship and three smaller premium or luxury vessels.

Ambience, operated by Ambassador Cruise Line, was listed by Málaga Cruise Port from 7am until 6pm. The ship has capacity for approximately 2,000 passengers.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has two ships in port on the same day. Seven Seas Navigator was scheduled to remain from 7am until 6pm, while Seven Seas Splendor was due alongside from 8am until 8pm.

The two Regent vessels offer a sharp contrast in age and scale. Seven Seas Navigator entered service in 1999 and is one of the line’s smaller ships, while the 55,498gt Seven Seas Splendor entered service in 2020.

Cruise visitors arrive during Málaga’s fair

The four-ship day falls during the Feria de Málaga, the city’s principal annual summer celebration. Events take place across the historic centre during the day and at the Cortijo de Torres fairground during the evening.

Cruise calls place visitors within easy reach of the centre, including Calle Larios, the Alcazaba, the Roman Theatre and the waterfront at Muelle Uno. Passengers on the later-departing Seven Seas Splendor have the longest scheduled stay of the four ships.

The calls form part of a wider period of cruise activity during the fair. Nine ships with combined capacity exceeding 19,000 passengers were expected to visit Málaga over the course of the event, with 21 August accounting for four of those arrivals.

Málaga expects a stronger second half

Málaga recorded 199,529 cruise passengers during the first six months of 2026, according to figures reported from the port authority. That was 3.2% below the equivalent period in 2025, although the port expects activity during the second half of the year to lift the annual result above last year’s total.

The port handled 570,481 cruise passengers and 331 calls in 2025, its strongest performance for 15 years. It has also been working to develop its position in the premium and luxury market while retaining the capacity to receive some of the world’s largest cruise ships.

Friday’s schedule illustrates that range: a large P&O Cruises resort ship, Ambassador’s traditional-style Ambience and two all-inclusive luxury ships from Regent Seven Seas Cruises all visiting on the same day.

Málaga Cruise Port notes that schedules remain subject to alteration for weather or operational reasons.
