Cordelia Sky begins her new career in India today, 23 October 2026, as the former Norwegian Cruise Line ship starts sailing for Cordelia Cruises.
The ship's first advertised voyage for the Indian operator is a three-night Goa Weekend Cruise departing Mumbai. Cordelia's booking system lists calls at Mumbai, Goa and Mumbai, with the inaugural sailing due to end on 26 October.
Former Norwegian Sky starts a new chapter
Cordelia Sky previously sailed as Norwegian Sky. Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings announced in April 2025 that Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun would be placed on long-term charters to Cordelia Cruises, with purchase options included in the agreements.
The 1999-built ship completed her Norwegian Cruise Line career in September 2026 before transferring to Cordelia. She then entered dry dock in Yalova, Turkey, for refurbishment and conversion ahead of the move to India.
The arrival gives Cordelia Cruises a substantially larger second ship alongside Cordelia Empress. Cordelia says Sky measures 258 metres, has a gross tonnage of 77,104 and accommodates 2,004 guests at double occupancy in 1,002 staterooms.
Three-night inaugural cruise to Goa
The first sailing is a round trip from Mumbai to Goa. Cordelia advertises inaugural extras including a sailing gift, ship merchandise, a sail-away celebration and an inaugural dinner.
After today's departure, the published programme includes short cruises from Mumbai and Goa as well as longer voyages visiting Lakshadweep. The line has advertised two-night weekend breaks, three-night Goa cruises, four-night Lakshadweep cruises and five-night itineraries combining Goa and Lakshadweep.
More regional sailings planned
Cordelia has also outlined seven-night Southeast Asia itineraries from Chennai, with destinations including Phuket, Langkawi, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Those longer voyages broaden the ship's role beyond India's west-coast short-cruise market.
The deployment is significant for India's developing domestic cruise industry. It increases Cordelia's capacity and places a second established ocean-going ship into regular service for Indian travellers.
What is onboard Cordelia Sky?
Cordelia says the ship has 10 dining venues, 11 bars and lounges, two swimming pools, five hot tubs and more than 30,000 square feet of open deck space. Entertainment centres on the 930-seat Marquee Theatre, while other facilities include a spa, fitness centre and dedicated areas for children and teenagers.
The accommodation includes interior and ocean-view cabins, 245 mini-suites, 11 penthouse suites and four chairman's suites. Cordelia is also promoting regional Indian food alongside international choices, with vegetarian and Jain options available.
