MSC Armonia is a Lirica-class ocean cruise ship operated by MSC Cruises. She was built at Chantiers de l'Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire, France, and entered service for Festival Cruises as European Vision in July 2001. MSC acquired the ship in 2004 and renamed her MSC Armonia.
The ship underwent a major transformation at Fincantieri's Palermo shipyard between August and November 2014. As the prototype for MSC Cruises' Renaissance Programme, she was cut apart and fitted with a new 24-metre, 2,200-tonne midship section. The work increased her length to approximately 274.9 metres, raised her gross tonnage to 65,542gt and added 193 passenger cabins.
MSC Cruises currently lists MSC Armonia with 976 cabins, capacity for 2,620 passengers and approximately 721 crew members. The ship has 13 decks in total, nine of which are accessible to guests, and a maximum speed of 20.1 knots.
The 2014 project also introduced expanded children's facilities developed with partners including Chicco and LEGO, a spray park, a larger restaurant and buffet, a new lounge, an upgraded MSC Aurea Spa and additional public spaces. Energy-efficiency work included a lower-drag hull treatment, LED lighting in public areas and a variable-speed drive system designed to reduce electricity consumption.
Onboard facilities include restaurants and buffet dining, bars and lounges, a theatre, casino, pools, children's clubs, a spa, gym and outdoor recreation areas. MSC Armonia operates changing regional itineraries, and guests should check current schedules directly with MSC Cruises.
