Castries

Castries is Saint Lucia's principal cruise port, combining two dedicated berths at Pointe Seraphine with multi-use berths on the central waterfront beside La Place Carenage.

Dock

Castries is Saint Lucia's principal cruise port and offers an unusually broad mix of dedicated and multi-use berthing within walking distance of the capital.

Pointe Seraphine contains two dedicated cruise berths. SLASPA publishes Berth #1 with a 400ft (121.9m) pier face and 36ft (11.0m) depth, using dolphins to accommodate much longer ships. Berth #2 has a 300ft (91.4m) pier face and 34ft (10.4m) depth.

Cruise ships can also use the main Port Castries / Queen Elizabeth II Dock area beside La Place Carenage. SLASPA publishes six numbered multi-use berths, including continuous Berths #2 and #3 at 720ft (219.5m), Berth #4 at 498ft (151.8m) and Berth #5 at 520ft (158.5m).

Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 100 GRT, two tugs are available and potable water is available alongside all berths. Anchorage facilities are also published for vessels unable or not scheduled to berth alongside.

Terminal information

Port Castries is operated by the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA). Cruise calls use the dedicated Pointe Seraphine cruise berths and, when required, the multi-use Queen Elizabeth II/Port Castries berths beside La Place Carenage. The two shopping complexes are within or close to central Castries.

Docking and tender information

Pointe Seraphine has two dedicated cruise berths. SLASPA also allocates cruise ships to the main Port Castries multi-use berths, particularly the continuous Berths 2 & 3 and Berths 3 & 4 combinations shown in cruise schedules. Anchorage is available and is used by some vessels.

Getting around

Taxis, excursion coaches and tour operators serve the port. Water taxis operate between Pointe Seraphine and La Place Carenage. Central Castries can be reached on foot from both principal cruise areas.

Accessibility

The cruise facilities are close to central Castries, but passengers requiring specific gangway, wheelchair or tender assistance should confirm arrangements with their cruise line.
