Chief Strategy Officer; Chief Financial Officer-designate from 1 January 2027
Meghan Montana is Chief Strategy Officer and Chief Financial Officer-designate at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, the parent company of Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Norwegian announced on 29 October 2026 that Montana will become Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer on 1 January 2027. She will succeed Mark A. Kempa, who is stepping down after more than 25 years with the company and will remain as an adviser through June 2027 to support the transition.
Montana joined Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings in January 2026 as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. In that role, she has led the company's transformation office, turnaround strategy and global outsourcing initiatives, with responsibility spanning strategy, corporate development, long-range planning and analytics.
Before joining Norwegian, Montana was Senior Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development at American Airlines, overseeing financial planning and analysis, divisional finance and corporate development.
She previously served in senior treasury roles at American Airlines, including as Senior Vice President and Treasurer. Her responsibilities included corporate finance, global banking and cash management, fleet transactions, asset management and insurance. She helped the airline manage its liquidity and balance sheet through the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent recovery.
Earlier in her career, Montana held senior banking roles at Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland, advising global clients on capital structure, financing strategies and long-term growth.
Montana has served on the board of aircraft lessor Azorra, an Oaktree company, since March 2023 and is a member of its Audit Committee.
She holds an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Miami University in Ohio.
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has appointed chief strategy officer Meghan Montana as its next chief financial officer, succeeding Mark Kempa in January 2027.
